We want to be involved early in the project
Together with Viginti Fastighetsutveckling we helped build the Svanen car park in the inner harbour of Norrköping. We started the work together early in the planning phase and have worked in close cooperation all the way.
“We are very satisfied with the cooperation with GMT. At the start we had slightly different views on how it should be solved, mostly because of differing expectations. But we learned a lot from each other as client and contractor, since we had the chance to work through the project together and it became clear what was to be done and by whom,” says Alexander Gil, business developer at VIGINTI FASTIGHETSUTVECKLING.
“We want to be involved from the start of a project so we can contribute our strengths and expertise. That way we can avoid surprises or obstacles later on. It also helps that we are on site and can make adjustments continuously and keep a close dialogue with the client,” says Oskar Kling of GMT, who was site manager for the Svanen car park.
GMT’s work on site is now all but complete. GMT held full responsibility for foundation work and piling, which makes things easier for the client with only one party to deal with.
“GMT are very easy to work with, largely because their supervisors and site manager were present throughout the construction phase and we had a good, close dialogue during the whole project,” concludes Alexander Gil.
Oskar Kling stresses the importance of being involved early in a project:
“We were involved at an early stage together with the client and consultants during the design of the project. We helped with cost assessments and expertise to give the project the best possible conditions. This work, combined with skilled structural engineers and clients, showed its results during the production phase. The work ran without any disruptions. Because we had a complete undertaking for groundwork, foundation and concrete works, it gave us a very good opportunity to create efficient production from start to finish.”
